Tim Holtz The Crusty Vampire Card

This Halloween card may be my favorite of the year - mostly due to being able to salvage it after a mistake LOL.  I absolutely love the NEW Tim Holtz "The Count" die - he is an adorable character!  But . . . his nose piece is a bit thin in places and I managed to slightly rip it when assembling.  No worries - just distress him and scruff him up a bit and add some blush and some of the NEW Ranger Crypt Grit Paste over the bits and call him "sunburned" lol.  The window feature of the orange sunset helps the idea of a vampire who got just a bit too much sun . . .

I used the Tim Holtz Crackle and Brickwork 3D embossing folders with some purple Ranger Mica Spray and silver wax overtop backed on an older retired Tim Holtz Halloween paper for my initial background. Then I added the Tim Holtz Sizzix Cathedral Window die cut out of chipboard and then covered over with glitter cardstock. Once cut out, I lined the window with acetate and used an orange alcohol ink on it to get the sunset glow and then stamped the Spiderweb Background from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Cobwebs CMS306 on white cardstock to put behind the colored acetate for a spooky view. Next I added some decor by using some small decorative items (skull, bones, cobwebs) from the Tim Holtz Sizzix die sets for "Frightful Things" and now retired "Halloween Mini Things". I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Quotechip. And of course the star is the Tim Holtz Sizzix die "The Count" along with his bats with some Ranger "Crypt" grit paste.

Tim Holtz Steampunk Pumpkin King Card

Halloween Card Number 4 . . .

This one was inspired by my Halloween card number 3 "Pumpkin Patch".  I admit - I fuss with my cards and change them often after I think I'm done LOL.  Usually once I'm done, I bring it up to my bedroom to sit on my bookcase for a day or two while I enjoy it, and generally I will start to pick at it until I change it.  My pumpkin patch card had the pumpkins stacked on it for a slimline card.  While I stared at it for a few days, it began to look like a head and body to me.  Thus this card - that turned the 2 stacked pumpkins into an actual character and what better character than a Pumpkin King!

The main die set used is still the NEW Tim Holtz Sizzix "Pumpkin Patch Colorize" die set, but I took away the face on the larger pumpkin of the two and added legs and arms from pieces of the older Tim Holtz Sizzix "Fall Foilage" die set to create the character. I added the hat from the Tim Holtz Sizzix "Winter Wardrobe" die set and the monocle and bow tie from Tim Holtz Sizzix "Hip Haunts" die set. I added Steampunk pieces from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Robotic and Gearhead die sets. He is holding the spider from Tim Holtz Sizzix "Frightful Things" die set.

I made the background paper from Ranger Distress Sprays in shaded lilac and wilted violet, and Ranger Mica Sprays in hocus pocus and empty tomb. I stamped over the background once it dried with Stampers Anonymous CMS241 Ledger Script, and I added the birds from the Tim Holtz Sizzix retired "Scarecrow" die set (but any birds or bats would be cute). Finally - I used the black glitter and mica flakes from the NEW Ranger Halloween Sparkle set. Lastly I added an Idea-ology Halloween quote chip and Idea-ology Hardware Heads and Mini Gear Sprocket to finish. Thanks for looking!

Pumpkin Patch Slimline Card

Halloween Card #3 features the NEW Tim Holtz Sizzix "Pumpkin Patch Colorize" die set.

To create the background for this card first I put some Ranger texture paste through the Tim Holtz Halloween Words THS027 stencil and then used Tim Holtz Vintage Photo embossing glaze overtop it and heated it with a heat gun. Next I sprayed Ranger Distress Ink Twisted Citron mixed with Ranger Distress Mica Sprays Bubbling Cauldron and Twisted Broomstick overtop the stenciled paper.

For the title I used the old retired Tim Holtz Sizzix "Curvy Banners" and the sentiment "Let's Get Smashed" on it was stamped on from Stampers Anonymous CMS381 Monster Reunion. I added some stars around the pumpkins to create a magical look with the Tim Holtz Sizzix "Falling Stars" die set.

Then I added some Tim Holtz Idea-ology hardware heads and some craft moss colored with Distress Twisted Citron Spray. The background paper I mounted it on is from an old, retired Tim Holtz Idea-olgy Halloween Paper Pad. Thanks for looking!

Tim Holtz Witching Hour Halloween Card

Halloween Card Number 2 for 2021 features Tim Holtz NEW Sizzix "Toil & Trouble" witches die set.

The background was stamped with Stampers Anonymous "Tiny Text Halloween" in the background and embossed over with Ranger fine black embossing powder. Then I sprayed over it with NEW Ranger Bubbling Cauldron Mica Spray, along with Twisted Citrus, Bundled Sage and Pine Needles distress sprays. Then I stamped the branch from the Stampers Anonymous Mr. Bones stamp set around the edges, but it wasn't quite dark enough for what I had in mind - so I cut up pieces from using the Tim Holtz retired Sizzix die "Tangled Twigs" to go over top as a frame.

The moon was done with the Stampers Anonymous Moon Mask with Ranger Flickering Candle and Empty Tomb Mica Sprays.

Lastly I added a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween chipboard quote (retired) and Tim Holtz Idea-ology Hardware Heads to finish it off.

Tim Holtz Mr. Bones Halloween Card

I generally make Halloween cards for around 10 people a year - and they are always my favorites as I love creating for Halloween.  Tim Holtz is always my designer of choice for this holiday - no one does it better than Tim for creating great products that makers want to use!

This card features the Tim Holtz Sizzix Die - Mr. Bones.  I made my background with Distress Sprays Twisted Citron, Carved Pumpkin, Hickory Smoke, and Distress Oxide Wilted Violet. I used a wet on wet technique for the background, wetting down my paper first and then adding the sprays and allowing them to mix and drip toward each other closely - but not enough to get a brown muddy mix.

Next, I stamped over the background with the spiderweb from the Stampers Anonymous set CMS380 Life of the Party and embossed it with Ranger Fine Black embossing powder. I used Tim Holtz Sizzix Gatekeeper die to match out where the spiderweb stamp ended to seamlessly extend my scene. I used the Tim Holtz Sizzix Village Graveyard set for my tombstone graves. Then I added some Tim Holtz Idea-ology remnant rubs on the graves and for the spider in the web. Finally, my ground was created by adding a few layers of Distress Mica Flakes. And my last touch was to sand down the Tim Holtz Idea-ology quote chip "The Dead of Night" to finish it off.

Steampunk Pumpkins

I LOVE Halloween!  It is my favorite holiday to craft decorations for!  This year I picked up the cutest white ceramic, paintable, light-up pumpkins at Michaels.  I admit - painting, especially fine detail, is not my strong suit.  But I decided these pumpkins were too cute to not at least try out.  So the first thing I did was paint them with Carved Pumpkin and Peeled Paint Distress Paints.  And they looked cute, but . . . it was too generic for me.  So I decided I wanted to try and "Steampunk" them!  I covered over the paint with Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween Tissue paper with poison labels on it and then added a bunch of Idea-ology gears in different shapes and sizes with a ton of the new Distress Halloween Crypt Texture Paste.  The leaves are from a Tim Holtz die called "Garden Greens".  And then finally I sprayed some craft grass with Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Spray and added a bit all over.   Happy Halloween!

Art Impressions Road Trip Slimline Card

I made this slimline card featuring Art Impressions Stamps SC0795 Road Trip from the "Girlfriends" series of stamps.  The background was made with a cloud stencil from Polkadoodles and a little Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink.  The quote at the bottom used for the road is from a 12x12 piece of paper from Reminisce called "YOLO" from their "Bucket List" series.  For coloring - I used my favorite Illustrators from Spectrum Noir.

Opening Lines

Hello all of you in craft world!

My name is Ann Myers, and I am AMM-Creative Creations.  I have been into crafting since I was a young girl being taught to cross stitch by my grandmother.  She eventually taught me to crochet too.  Knitting was not my thing - too tense.  After I became an adult I found a new love . . . scrapbooking!  Which I still love!  But I admit that these days I do a lot more card making and home decor projects.  On this blog I hope to feature creation in all types of crafts over time.

Welcome to my blog!
